Clynelish is an anglicised version of the Gaelic for green pasture and, though it’s a coastal whisky, this is fitting for a Scotch with sweet floral fragrances and verdant flavour notes.
Distilled on the north coast of Scotland, it is said that Clynelish whisky is closer to an Island style than other mainland malts and makes the perfect aperitif.
The original Clynelish distillery was built by the Marquess of Stafford in 1819 to provide a market for the barley grown by his tenants.
However, in 1968 this distillery closed and the production of Clynelish was moved to a more modern distillery across the road where today it still crafts this maritime whisky.

Nose: Zesty, mandarin, tangerine. Smoky.
Palate: Quite light, great clarity. Orange, soft acidity. Dry oak. Mixed fruits, vanilla, leather.
Finish: Quite long, bitter sweetness developing, spicy oak.
