THE NOSE
Its complexity starts out warm, golden, shimmering, with eastern exoticism: crystallised fruits, frangipane, sweet spices, fresh coriander. On the first nose, saffron is greyer and more saline, with the bouquet slowly becoming complex and then more austere, mysterious, clean and soothing.
THE PALATE
The flavour instantly unfurls leaving a bright, expressive, delicate aftertaste that is lively yet sensual, and still very fruit-forward. The nose and palate are strikingly similar, and the velvety mouth-feel becomes deeper and richer. The overall result displays intense, elegant, saline and slight liquorice notes.
ON THE NOSE
The bouquet is mesmerising, ripe, and complex. The opening notes are a blend of dark spices and cocoa which develop very quickly into fruit aromas. Fruit reigns supreme, with roasted fig and apricot and candied orange. The overall effect exudes smoky accents.
ON THE PALATE
The fullness of the wine is immediately striking. Its intensity and succulence set the tone through the sweetness and crisp punch of the flavours. The silky mouthfeel melts into a smooth, tight, and grainy structure with just a hint of vegetable flavours. The wine expresses an appealing brininess and saline character.
ON THE NOSE
The opening bouquet is complex and luminous, a mingling of white flowers, citrus and stone fruit. The overall effect is enhanced by the freshness of aniseed and crushed mint. The final aromas offered by the wine are starting to show spicy, woody and roasted notes.
ON THE PALATE
After a long period of reluctance, the wine is finally opening up. There is complete balance between the nose and the palate. Its slender, minimalist, pure, toned, athletic character is now also expressed with warmth. The fruit is pronounced and clear. The vintage’s characteristic acidity is remarkably well integrated. Its persistence is mainly aromatic, grey, smoky and highly promising.
ON THE NOSE
Notes of guava and spicy green grapefruit zest combine with stone fruit: white peach and nectarine. The wine opens up, with the whole complemented by woody vanilla and warm, lightly toasted brioche.
ON THE PALATE
The fruit is majestic: ripe, fleshy and profound. Beyond the richness and a certain voluptuousness is a strong impression of consistency that prevails. The wine’s power is remarkably restrained. The various sensations – silky, salty, sappy, bitter and briny – converge and persist.
